Michelle Light

For the past two years, Michelle Light has served as the Director for Special Collections at the Library of Congress. The Special Collections Directorate includes the American Folklife Center, the Veteran's History Project, the Geography & Map Division, the Manuscript Division, the Music Division, the Prints & Photographs Division, and the Rare Books and Special Collections Division. Previously, Michelle has held positions at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas; the University of California, Irvine; the University of Washington; Northeastern University; and Yale University. She has also been an active member of the Society of American Archivists. She holds an MS in Information (Archives and Records Management) and an MA in History from the University of Michigan.
